Chimneys English School was established in 1996, in Umi-machi, Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Initially as a private daycare centre that offered English Language learning opportunities, it has grown to become a premier English Immersion school in Fukuoka. It obtained in 2013, the status of an officially designated “centre for early childhood education and care” 認定こども園. We believe that we are innovative in our team teaching approach to using both local and a high percentage of foreign-born English speaking teachers in our immersive environment. We also place a great deal of focus and care on our childcare approach and learning environment. Our students are set on the path to becoming global citizens and don’t simply learn English, but rather use English to learn.
